We had the opportunity to experiment with stop motion during a 3 day workshop with Andy Martin and decided to build 3D cardboard objects. We used mostly replacement animation, but also some 2D animation in after effects. This animation is a farewell to summer in a wacky way! Goodbye to showing your legs, goodbye to sandals, goodbye to diving in the sea. The idea was to create an animated sequence for a pre-made loop by Andy Martin using stop motion. We started by designing all the models in vector and then printing them directly into the cardboard. The models for the curling fingers were the trickiest part. After everything was cut and glued we took it to the set and had our fun animating everything.
